Holiday in Erice, among history, landscapes and culture
Il Carmine casa per ferie is set in the top of Erice, in the historical centre of the most popular Sicily’s middle age village. It has been conceived after the restoration of the old Carmelite’s convent, near the Carmelite’s Church entitled to Maria Ss. Annunziata built in 1423. It is an historical building, whom charm derives from its location and internal services like the Chapel and the lecture theatre. Moreover there is a spacious courtyard available to the guests and surrounded by stone walls, with the access to the old walls of Erice. It is also a good alternative to the classical Hotel, it has spacious and bright rooms, simply furnished and in harmony with the Carmilite’s historical buildings.
Erice, between myth and history
Erice is an amazing village, a little jewel set in the top of San Giuliano’s Mountain, where myths, legends, great events, amazing landscapes and monuments coexist. Erice is not only the Norman Castle (once it has been a Venus’ temple and, before, it has been also a Tanit-Astarte’s temple and the site of an everlasting fire for the Mediterranean’ seamen), the Cathedral or the gardens around the Castle…Erice is also and above all alleys and fog, old walls and unforgettable landscapes in which you lose the horizon’s line, and it is also a good point from where you can see the sea and the sky that sometimes appear of the same colour.
